This journey began in March of 2005. We adopted sweet Emma, a 3 month old Papillon puppy. She quickly took over our lives, sharing our activities, travels and home for 14 years. This did not seem like a long journey when it came time for her to leave us. Emma was a Diva, appearing at the Portland Keller Auditorium in the Opera “Street Scenes”. Together we learned agility, fly ball and rally obedience. Emma almost passed her good citizen training, good dog with a willful mind of her own.
Emma communicated with me on a level I hardly understand. She gave me affection, dedication and unconditional love. The value of the life we shared is worthy of timeless reflection. As I travel through my life’s journey I will miss Emma forever and cherish her memory. I even hope one day to stop tearing up at the mention of her name. Or maybe I won’t.
